Medjugorje is a remote mountain village in Bosnia-Herzegovina (the former Yugoslavia). This small town was transformed forever on June 24, 1981 when six children ranging from ten to sixteen years old claimed to have had an apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary. They say she brought messages of peace for the world through prayer, fasting, scripture, confession and Mass. Of the six visionaries—Vicka, Ivan, Marija, Mirjana, Ivanka, and Jakov—three of them say Our Lady still appears to them daily.
In 1983, shortly after founding Magi Travel, John Brady went to Medjugorje for the first time and met with the visionaries to learn of their stories. Over the years, several thousand pilgrims have traveled with Magi to Medjugorje. Many report a sense of inner peace like they’ve never experienced before.
The apparitions attracted world-wide attention, with some estimating over 50 million pilgrims have visited over the past 43 years. Because of the civil war, overall interest declined for some years, but there is now a renewed interest in Medjugorje. In May of 2019, Pope Francis allowed dioceses and parishes throughout the world to organize pilgrimages to Medjugorje considering the significant number of people who come to Medjugorje and "the abundant fruits of grace that flow from it."
Now that you know about Medjugorje ... experience it for yourself!
We are excited to announce a special pilgrimage to Medjugorje this fall, November 13-21, 2024, for only $1,595 per person plus airfare. You may view more information by visiting the Medjugorje page of our website. Don't wait to reserve your place on this life-changing pilgrimage.

A pilgrimage is a journey in faith to a holy or significant place as an act of religious devotion. It's a spiritual journey that's about the person making the journey, and the destination, and is different from other types of tourism. Pilgrims often visit places that are important to their religion's stories, or to saints and other key people. They may also go to places associated with miracles, healing, or holiness, such as Lourdes, Fatima, Medjugorje, or the Holy Sepulchre.
It’s also more intentional. A pilgrimage is far more than an itinerary which includes cathedrals and Christian historical sites. It’s an intentional encounter with the story of God’s work in the world. Pilgrims are there to pray, celebrate Mass, and reflect on the significance of these places — to fully enter these sacred places with their hearts, minds, and souls.
Pilgrimages are a time for prayer, reflection, and modesty, and participants may leave room for the Holy Spirit to transform them. The Catechism of the Catholic Church describes pilgrimages as a way to evoke the earthly journey to heaven, and as a special time for prayer renewal. Many believe that life itself is a pilgrimage towards God.
We have gathered a few tips to help you pack efficiently:
Saint Paul spent some thirty years preaching the gospel and founding Christian communities in modern day Greece, Turkey and beyond. He was one of the foremost leaders of the first generation of Christianity. Yet he was not one of the Twelve Apostles; he did not even know Jesus during his lifetime. In fact, Paul said that he persecuted early Christians “beyond measure”—a remarkable thought considering he would go on to become one of the most important people in the history of Christianity. Paul's conversion on the road to Damascus then set the stage for his missionary journeys as “Apostle to the Gentiles.”
Now what does it entail to walk in his footsteps? As it is estimated that Paul traveled over 10,000 miles, we often focus on important sites from his second and third missionary journeys. Adjacent to the Acropolis in Athens, we visit Mars Hill, where Paul emphasized the need to know God rather than worshipping the unknown. From Athens, we follow him to Corinth and have Mass amidst the ancient ruins where he lived for 18 months and worked as a tentmaker. Walking through the awe-inspiring ruins of Ephesus, we reflect on Paul’s base of operations for three years where he performed numerous miracles and wrote his letters to the Corinthians.
We organize custom pilgrimages to ‘follow the footsteps’ of Paul through these locations where he preached the gospel and spread Christianity.
Our most popular itineraries are highlighted by a 7- or 9-night Greek Isles cruise, together with a 4-night land tour of Athens & Corinth. This makes for a comfortable and efficient way of seeing the sites, limiting time spent on the motorcoach and checking in/out of hotels. There is a balance between structured time and free time—private group tours including Mass in the locations pertinent to Paul, as well as free time to relax and reflect on the ship and explore picturesque islands such as Santorini and Mykonos.
